Day 1 Houy Nok Phit

A steady climb through forest and a village stop. The night is simple, close to the trail.

Day 2 Downstream

A morning paddle with time to get out and look. Back to Luang Prabang in the afternoon.

Do I need a visa for Laos?

Many nationalities can get a visa on arrival or an e-visa. Rules change, so check the current requirements for your passport before you travel.

When is the best time to travel?

November to March is dry and cooler. April and May are hot. June to October is the green season, with rain most afternoons and fewer visitors.

What is a join-in tour?

A join-in tour runs on set dates with other travellers. You book a seat; the tour departs once the minimum group size is reached.
